The Davis County jail record is in Farmington, outside this address entirely.

Ask a simple Bountiful question before entering: who created the record? A Bountiful officer's narrative belongs with police. A filed information and sentence belong with the court. Bountiful publishes $10 for a police report and $10 for a police incident report. Audio or video is $50 each and nonrefundable, with each additional copy listed at $10. Photos may cost up to $50. These are city police charges, not court-copy or county-jail prices.

Bountiful staff first prepares the responsive request and then emails the fee and payment directions. That order matters. Do not mail or tender an assumed amount before Bountiful identifies the file and confirms the charge. Restricted media may also require a separate evidence appointment.

Bountiful GRAMA Denial Appeals

The Bountiful request form identifies denial grounds for private records under §63G-2-302, controlled records under §63G-2-303, protected records under §63G-2-304, and traffic accident material that may involve §41-6a-404. These labels have different legal meanings. A denial should state its basis rather than merely say that the file is unavailable.

The Bountiful form provides a formal appeal route to the City Manager's Office within 30 days. The requester indicates whether they appeal, states the relief sought, supplies supporting information, signs, and dates the form. It says a decision follows within five business days. Read the stated classification against the exact item requested. A released event header does not mean every narrative paragraph or attached recording must also be public. Conversely, one restricted part does not always settle access to the rest. A focused appeal can identify the desired relief, explain the requester's basis, and ask Bountiful to review whether a redacted copy can be supplied. Keep the original request, denial, and delivery dates together because the 30-day appeal period runs from Bountiful's decision.

Bountiful Record Access Rules

Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act governs Bountiful police-record requests. Public records can be inspected and copied, subject to lawful classification, redaction, and fees. A written request should contain contact details and a reasonably specific record description. Police may protect active-investigation material, victim or juvenile information, and sensitive personal data when the law permits.

Bountiful's published ten-business-day language is a practical outer marker for an ordinary request, not a guarantee that each file will take that long. A simple available report may be prepared sooner. An active case, a large media set, or a record requiring careful redaction may take more time, and the records office says it will update the requester. Preserve those notices along with the payment email so the request history is clear.
